Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), also known as Tecnológico de Monterrey or simply as Tec, is a private, non-profit and coeducational multi-campus university based in Monterrey, Mexico. Founded in 1943 by industrialists in the city of Monterrey, ITESM has since grown to include 31 campuses in 25 cities throughout the country.

It is one of the universities with the highest academic recognition in Latin America, one of the most reputed by employers in Latin America and one of the best 100 in the world. It has an important presence in the business and engineering areas. It is recognized as the best business school in Mexico and Latin America and the seventh-best university in Latin America in some rankings. Additionally, it is one of the 45 universities in the world named with 5 QS Stars, the only university in Mexico and Latin America.




It stands out for being the university with the most patents registered in all Mexico due to its research at biotechnology, health, automotive, technology, food, and manufacturing industry. It is also worth noting the intervention of this university as the first in all Latin America to connect to the BITNET network in 1986 and the first to the Internet network in 1989. At present, ITESM has 90,000 students and around 20,000 administrative and academic staff.
